Good to know
Tips before you start
- Use outdoor-rated porcelain only: indoor tiles aren't made for frost.
- Porcelain needs a primer on the back of each slab, or it won't bond.
- A 1 in 60 fall away from the house keeps water off the walls.
Questions
Does outdoor porcelain need sealing?
No. Porcelain hardly absorbs water, so it doesn't need sealing and cleans easily.
Can you lay a patio on my old concrete?
Often, if it's sound and falls the right way. Otherwise a new base is laid. It's checked at the quote visit.
